Volunteers needed as HAB readies for Fall Season
To get ready for hundreds of kids ready to play ball, HAB is in need of helping hands.
Volunteers are the life blood of HAB
and now, more than ever, the League is looking for help. Roles are needed in all areas of the park; facility, game day operations, concessions, marketing, events, and sponsorship. Roles do not demand too much time and help diversify the duties that require to keep the park's improvement initiatives.
All three fields need help and are top priority. Fields 1 and 2, which hosts Majors and Minors games and practices respectively, will go through a through re-do, including rebuilding the pitchers mound and adding new clay to prepare for the upcoming fall season. The new HAB Bullpen will also receive new clay, and is in need of basic beautification. Other facility improvements consist of repainting the concessions area, beautifying the welcome grounds, and installing a new batting cage.
During the summer, an overall analysis of HAB determined that a focus should be put into the park experience. We new ideas comes the need for more volunteers. The Have A Ball campaign was designed in an effort to bring families to the park and create fun atmosphere around the day's ball games. Coming soon, you will find The Pavillon, our tailgate area in the outfield of Field 1. This area is for folks who want to set up shop and enjoy green space, surrounded by friends and food. It will also serve as a great viewing seat behind our new, temporary outfield fence. The other side of the outfield will be used for player warm ups, extending the workout area for teams.
Other important roles will include helping install new aesthetics around the park, leading the information tent on gamedays, helping build a sponsorship and community outreach base, organizing and running special events in and out of season.
There is something available for volunteer, no matter the background or expertise. All it takes is a "yes," and you too can join the Have A Ball team. Contact
