The 2015 Spring season was a successful, yet bitter sweet campaign. We saw hard work and dedication produce some terrific facility improvements, and also witnessed the damaging forces of nature on a stormy late April afternoon.  Thankfully, no one was injured at the park and the damages were limited to superficial property. Undaunted by the setback, a dedicated group of folks acted quickly to get our grounds and facilities cleaned up and enabled our league tournaments to be played on schedule. 

The late Spring and early Summer was a busy time for our Advanced Baseball teams.  We fielded three teams of dedicated players, coaches and families representing HAB in the 8u, 9u and 10u divisions.  The teams traveled around Jacksonville and even to the bustling town of Ft. White, Florida where the 10U team competed in the Florida State Small Park Championship.  It was an exciting experience for everyone involved.  For more information, please see the advanced baseball tab under HAB Programs on the website.

Since the end of the baseball post-season, the concession building storm damage has been repaired and the new overhead/backstop netting will be installed very soon.  As always, there is a considerable amount of work to do in advance of the upcoming season.  So, check the calendar of events for upcoming cleanup days.  Even volunteering an hour out of your day will help a great deal. 

There are many exciting things happening at HAB now and in the near future.  We have brought back the park's original color scheme and updated its look. There is great symbolism with our new HAB crest and I encourage you to learn its meaning. We also are proud to launch our new website.  It is very interactive and user friendly, and makes registration a breeze. You will also be able to keep up with your favorite player as each team now has a mini-website you can follow.  Take a few minutes to navigate through the new site and I encourage parents and coaches alike to utilize all of its applications.  Thanks to sponsorship and private donations, we will install a much needed, new batting cage this fall and have other facility improvements in the works. There are also many other, more subtle, advancements which will greatly enhance the practice and game day experience for our young players and, in fact, for all of us.  These things take time to implement and patience to work out the inevitable kinks, and with the support and involvement of the entire HAB family, we will accomplish all of our goals, big and small.
